First Ukrainian Flax Festival
On September 5, 2015 the first Ukrainian flax festival took place in Stremygorod village, Korostensky district, Zhytomyr region. It was held on the initiative of the company, with the aim of reviving, popularizing and developing flax growing and of supporting cultural and intellectual heritage of our region.
Establishment
The history of the company started in 1929. At that time it was a collective farm of four villages: Dibrova, Maidanivka, Stremygoroda and Boliarka with total population of 700 people.
Nowadays
Nowadays "Zorya" is a powerful enterprise. It takes about 2 hours to travel over its premises which are located on the territory of four villages. Overwhelming majority of villagers are ready to work for the company.
New breathing
The breakthrough became possible thanks to Irina Kostiushko who is the new owner of "Zorya". All the assets were handed over to her on November 11, 2013. In 2014 the company obtained the biggest oil-bearing flax harvest in Zhitomyrs'ka region and became the first producer-exporter of flax in Korostens'ky district without distributors-exporters' participation.
